One dead and three injured in accident Johannesburg

ER24 paramedics responded to an accident scene this morning after a bakkie overturned on the N1 highway near the Grasfontien turn off, North of Johannesburg, leaving a man dead and three others injured.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics when they arrived at the scene they found the bakkie sitting upright in the fast lane.

Meiring added that on assessment, paramedics found the lifeless body of a male patient lying roughly 50 metres away from the vehicle. Unfortunately the patient had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries and was declared dead on scene.

“Three other patients were found on scene with minor injuries. Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Mediclinic Muelmed for further treatment” Meiring said.

Exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
