SANDF Lieutenant General Bongani Mbatha has passed away

The South African Defence Force has confirmed the sudden passing of its Chief of Logistics Lieutenant General Bongani Mbatha.

President Jacob Zuma has sent his condolences to the Mbatha family.

The cause of the death has not been revealed as yet and funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

Department of Defence Spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini says last night, early evening we lost Chief of Logistics of the SANDF Lieutenant General Bongani Mbatha who passed away suddenly after a very short illness.

Dlamini said we wish to send our condolences to his family and the entire SANDF force.
