15 people injured in a taxi accident

An accident on the N12 outside Potchefstroom, in Gauteng left fifteen people injured.

This is after the taxi they were travelling in rolled multiple times.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics, along with fire services, arrived on scene, they found the taxi lying on its side on the side of the road. The injured occupants from the taxi lay spread across the scene.

Meiring added that paramedics assessed the patients and found that 15 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Some of the occupants had been ejected from the vehicle when it rolled.

“Metro services closed off the roads while paramedics treated the patients for their injuries. Once treated, the patients were transported to Potchefstroom Hospital for further observations.” Meiring said.

The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
