SAPS and SABRIC to fight bank-related crimes

The South African Police
Service together with the South African Banking Risk Information Centre have
reaffirmed their committed in intensifying the fight against bank-related and
cash-in-transit crimes.
Lieutenant General Solomon
Makgale said both parties have committed to educating the public about
bank-related and cybercrimes and increasing the capacity of the SAPS to
administer cyber-related commercial crimes amongst other things.
Makgale said we cooperate and
share information to make sure that we reduce criminality in the banking
industry. We had very good discussions and very frank to look at what is it
that is hindering us from achieving the kind of success that we want to as
envisage in the memorandum of understanding
“We want to as well to ensure
that we go out there and arrest the people that we identify” Mokgale added.
