Two suspects aged 28 and 40-years-old have been found guilty of possession of suspected stolen goods.

The two suspects appeared in the Postmasburg Magistrate Court and were both sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.

The judgement has been welcomed by the Acting Station Commander captain Andries Springbok.

Lieutenant Sergio Kock said this came after Constable Frank Munzhelele of Postmasburg SAPS arrested the two accused after finding them in possession of suspected stolen copper.

Sergio Kock said the arrests were effected during the evening of 20 April 2014 on the Jenn-Haven Gravel Road. Police stopped and searched the suspicious looking motor-vehicle the two accused were travelling in.

“Police confiscated the motor vehicle together with the 160kg of copper they found stashed inside the car Kock added.
