One man died and another critical in a head-on collision

ER24 paramedics responded to an accident scene whereby a man suspected to be his 30s died and another critically injured when their vehicle collided head-on with a truck on the Golden Highway in Vaderbijilpark, Gauteng.

Paramedics Spokesperson Russel Meiring said the driver of the truck fortunately suffered only minor injuries.

Meiring said paramedics found that the man had succumbed to his injuries and rescue workers had to use the Jaws of Life to free the patient.

He was treated and transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
