The 41-year-old was arrested after
he shot the officer outside his home in March in Rocklands, Mitchell’s
Plain.
Smith added that when the man was
arrested he was also found to be in possession of a 2.2 pistol.
“This is one of six officers in the
city that have been injured since the beginning of this year. This particular
case is the first one where we have had a real breakthrough” Smith added.
