Eight shacks destroyed in Diepsloot

Johannesburg emergency services say eight shacks have been destroyed by a fire in the Diepsloot Township.

Spokesman for the city Robert Mulaudzi says more than twenty people have been displaced by the blaze.

He says the city is working with non-governmental organisations to provide relief to the families have that were displaced.

No deaths were reported.

The city has also launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze.
