Thirty eight year old Ephraim Mashishi, was killed and seven others were injured when a man threw a hand grenade at worshippers in Pretoria on Sunday.
A group of Zion Christian Church worshippers blocked a road in Shoshanguve when the man allegedly threw the grenade at them.
The worshippers were heading home after they had all night prayers.
It is reported that the man who was driving in a Volkswagen Golf had been warned to slow down before the road were unblocked to let him through.
He then allegedly returned ten minutes later and threw the grenade.
The man has been arrested on charges of murder and attempted murder for throwing a hand grenade at a group of worshippers blocking a road.
He is expected to appear in the Shoshanguve Magistrates Court north of Pretoria on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Lolo Mangena said the 25-year-old man had also been charged with possession of explosives and discharging explosives in a public place.
