Eastern Cape prisoner still not found

A 25-year-old man who escaped from the Kirkwood Magistrate's Court has still not been found.

Toriso Yenge appeared in the Magistrate's Court on Monday, on a charge of car theft when he escaped.

He is also wanted for armed robbery and attempted murder, which happened in January in Uitenhage.

Lieutenant-Colonel Priscilla Naidu said Yenge was being escorted back to the holding cells at 11:00, when he broke loose from a police officer and ran out through the gates.

Toriso Yenge has been described by police as being very well built and he was wearing a black jacket and blue denim pants.

Warrant Officer Johan Mostert said "We are busy following up with some leads we have some information but we have not found him yet".
