A minibus taxi was hit by a bus on the N3 in Durban leaving thirteen people including the taxi driver injured on Tuesday morning.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks said “the taxi was travelling about 500 metres from the Tollgate Bridge and the bus had been travelling in traffic behind the taxi when the accident happened.”

"The back of the taxi bore the brunt of the impact. So the people at the back were the most injured," he said. There was significant damage to both vehicles," he said.

The patients were taken to Netcare St Augustine’s and King Edward VIII Hospitals.
